In the pre-pandemic era, our offices were a bustling hub of creativity, where a diverse team with many nationalities and backgrounds thrived on collaboration and spontaneous interactions. The shift to remote work, while preserving productivity, dimmed the vibrancy of our team spirit. It was amidst this new silence—after online meetings ended and screens went black—that the need for a solution became evident. We missed the laughter, the shared successes, and the organic brainstorming sessions that had been the lifeblood of our office. This longing led to the birth of Playbook, a platform aimed at recapturing the essence of our collective spirit in a landscape forever altered by COVID-19.

In response to these layered challenges, Playbook was born from a desire to not just bridge the gap but to transform it into a strength. It’s about ensuring that the joy, connection, and dynamic energy of collaborative work thrive, irrespective of physical distances. Playbook is our answer to maintaining a cohesive, engaged team environment, designed with the unique needs of CEOs, HR professionals, and team leaders in mind, ensuring our core values and culture not only endure but flourish in the hybrid workplace.

Our Journey From Realization to Action

I wasn't the only one feeling this. The news is filled with reports about loneliness amongst the remote workforce and stress levels can increase while focus and productivity decrease.

I was invited by the culture team of Deutsche Telekom to come up with a way to make online team meetings more fun and infuse them with some culture and behavior-driven activities. At Deutsche Telekom there are 400.000+ employees and they have "18 online meetings a day." The culture team had developed ideas on how certain behaviours drives result and now the organisation needs to adopt those ideas. My involvement resulted in two successful pilot projects from which the idea for Playbook sparked.

I envisioned a solution where technology doesn't just enable us to work together but enriches our interactions, making every digital touchpoint a chance to build deeper connections and foster teamwork.
